Finally, it feels like Spring is in the air and the cherry blossoms are blooming. I really love Easter as one of my favourite times of the year. Finally, the clocks are forward and we have officially come out of hibernation! Easter could be my new favourite time of year and perhaps, one of the most underrated holidays of them all.
When we think about Spring, we think about cherry blossoms and lambs and of course, Easter. I’ve highlighted 5 Things to do around Easter if you’re looking for some inspiration:
Wonderlab at the Science Museum, London
We visited the Science Museum for the first time earlier this week and had an amazing time. I’ll be writing about this trip next week but for the moment, I’ll give you a little snapshot version!
This new permanent feature in the popular Kensington museum has 50 interactive exhibits, with staff to explain the science and get kids involved. Regular live shows (included) demonstrate the science behind rockets, explosions and other noisy, messy phenomena. My kids were so excited, it kept me on my toes running after them as they just couldn’t wait to see more and more!
There was so much fun stuff such as making spiky crystals out of magnetic liquid, watching ice form under a magnifying glass, testing friction on slides and much more. We got to take part in some cool explosive experiments too in the interactive sessions!
Even maths is fun here as children create patterns and solve puzzles. It's a fascinating place and believe me, parents will enjoy it as much as the children.
Top Tip: Get there early to avoid the queues.
2. Swing into Action with Go-Ape (Nationwide)
We love Go-Ape and it’s a brilliant place to help children to grow their confidence and gently come out of comfort zones! Fly down zip slides, leap off Tarzan swings and sample fun crossings on Go Ape whilst enjoying views of our beautiful woodlands. Under 10's can also have a go on tree top junior, which is what both my children love!
Whether you are enjoying a family day out, a birthday or a special occasion, Go Ape offer an adventure experience like no other. If you want to keep costs down, take your own drinks, snacks and sandwiches to munch on in the tranquil, forest surroundings.

Based on the book by Claire Freedman & Ben Cort, adapted & directed by Adam Bampton-Smith. This zany and hilarious tale based on the best-selling children’s book is wonderfully brought to life on stage for the very first time. With stunning effects, madcap action, original music (and lots of aliens of course!) this fantastically fresh and funny production will delight the whole family. You'll laugh your pants off! Spend the rest of the afternoon on the South Bank and grab some lunch! What's not to love?

5. Join the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt with National Trust (Nationwide)
There are over 250 hunts to choose from across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, guaranteeing a fun-filled Easter for everyone. Whether you're having a go at being a Victorian explorer, or seeking out the wild creatures that live in the woods, you'll never be short of an adventure. Many of our places will also be offering games and craft activities galore, so you can stay for a whole day of fun.
Bring the family together for a fun and nature-filled day. What’s more, everyone will be rewarded with a delicious Cadbury treat at the end of each completed hunt. Check your local National Trust location to see if the hunt is still running, but some are still on until 15th April 2018, so hop along!
And, after all of those ideas, don't forget to get your wellies on and pop down to your local farm (who are open for visitors) to have a few 'must have' cuddles with some newborn lambs. How could you resist? Just remember...they are heavier than they look!
Now it feels like Spring....
