Going Wild at Drusillas Park
Situated just off the A27 near Alfriston, Drusillas Park is not far from Eastbourne in Sussex. We have come here a number of times for the last five or so years and we love it. My daughter is a huge fan of Meercats and my son loves snakes (yikes!) so Drusillas Park is the perfect place for them to meet their favourites!
To start with, there is plenty of well organised parking. You know we always love to talk about parking! Toilets are situated just before the ticket booths. A simple thing but so thoughtful when you have small children who have just had a long car journey.
Every part of it has been designed and created with children’s enjoyment and education in mind. Widely regarded as the best small zoo in Europe Drusillas Park – it really is a super fun day out.
Although the site isn’t overly vast, it has plenty to keep little ones occupied. It has been cleverly designed that even at busy times it never feels crowded, and visitors are taken around in a well planned way. We have been on quiet days, busy days, hot sun and rain, and it is brilliant every time. There are hundreds of exotic animals to see from monkeys and meerkats, penguins pandas and of course…meerkats!
The park is committed to conservation values and wants to share that through their Keeper for the Day experience: a chance for animal-mad kids to shadow a keeper and learn to clean, feed and care for their newfound friends. You can even get 'nose-to-nose' with nature on one of their walk-through exhibits. Choose between Lemurland, Lory Landing or the freaky but friendly Bat Cave. However, animals are only half the fun.
There are some brilliant play areas including Go Wild! Go Bananas! and Amazon Adventure. Plus a splashpad, Hello Kitty Secret Garden and African-themed three-ride attraction Go Safari!
In summary, I would highly recommend you go explore this place for yourself. Drusillas Park is fun, engaging park for families. We love it and we hope you love it too. This is not a sponsored post, but we are writing about it as we want to share this day out with other families.
