Battling Dry Skin with Cetraben
I have suffered with very dry skin for my whole life and my son suffers with eczema too. During the cold winter months’, it can get particularly bad. It is fair to say that the cold months have a very drying effect on the skin, so it's important to use a more intensive moisturiser to build up resistance. As well as the cold weather, throw in multiple hand washes along my son’s swim lessons; it is easy to see how his skin gets quickly irritated and itchy - which is why we have always turned to Cetraben as a solution.
It is always heart-breaking to see my son’s skin flare up to the point where he is just constantly itching all the time and he is not alone in his skin condition. Approximately one in five children in the UK suffers with eczema. There is currently no cure but the good news is it can be controlled. Many children find it improves as they get older but it is worth bearing in mind that skin will have tendency to be sensitive for life. Furthermore, the National Eczema Society (NES) estimates that one in twelve people will have adult eczema very often associated with hand dermatitis or contact dermatitis.
Cetraben is a range of emollient products designed to help you better manage dry and eczema-prone skin. It has a unique blend of ingredients, light liquid paraffin to replace lost skin oils, white soft paraffin to form a protective barrier on the skin surface and glycerin to bring moisture up from deep down in the skin.
As part of a skincare challenge for both myself and my son, I was sent three products: Cetraben Cream, Cetraben Lotion and Cetraben Daily Cleansing Cream. I started using them straight away, using the Cream on my hands, and the Daily Cleansing Cream (in the shower) and the Lotion (once dry) on my arms and legs. They really started to hydrate my dry skin, absorbing easily with no and sticky residue. I also used the lotions on my son and it has made a world of difference. I always smother his arms and legs in Cetraben around an hour before bed, so he gets a better nights sleep.
Unlike some other creams, the Cetraben products felt extremely gentle on the skin, meaning they are suitable for all ages and in our case, it immediately relieved discomfort on eczema suffering skin. This is because Cetraben products have a blend of ingredients helps people manage dry and eczema-prone skin. Its unique and balanced formulations help to treat dry and eczema-prone skin by re-hydrating and protecting it from irritants. Cetraben cream and lotion both contain:
Light Liquid Paraffin - replaces lost skin oils
White Soft Paraffin - forms a protective barrier on the skin surface
Glycerin - brings moisture up from deep down in the skin
The exact balance of these three simple ingredients, working in harmony with the skin, is the secret that makes Cetraben so popular and it is the first medicated skincare brand to have its research approved by the British Skin Foundation.
In summary, our house will always be full of Cetraben products and they have become an important part of our family skincare routine.
